Metrics

The metric sytem will be taught in the first quarter of school. Students will be expected to understand basic units and how to convert within those units. Students will NOT be responsible for converting between english units and metric units. Scientists in the real world only use SI (Standard International) units so we feel it is important that students learn to get familiar with these measurement units.

To the left of this box are the resources we will be using throughout the class. To the right are some sites you may want to vistit to familiarize yourself with metrics. There are notes, games and quizzes available so have fun.

The following is a concept map of all of the main topics covered in the metric unit and how they are related to one another.
